Meet The Team

Pastor

Donald Rowe

My wife Sarah and I have been married 32 years and have been blessed with 3 sons, Caleb, Nathaniel, married to Bridget, and Micah. I enjoy gardening and leatherwork and people! God has blessed me with a faith journey that is so unique, I welcome what else He has in store for me!

Raised in western PA, growing up on the farm, having a father who was a pastor, I enjoy being outside with God in His creation. I also have a deep love for cooking. Mastering different techniques and styles is a lot of fun for me. As the newest member of the Bethany staff, I look forward to growing in my discipleship of Jesus, for I want to be more like Him today than I was yesterday.

Pastor of Ministry Support

Mark Williams

My wife Kelley and I have been married for 31 years and have been blessed with 7 children: Ben, Michaela, Luke, Gabe, Jaden, Sarah and Sol. In my free time, I enjoy coaching my children in youth sports, especially basketball, and serving the community through sports when possible.

I am also a passionate fan of watching college sports, especially football and basketball, and, having been born and raised in Tennessee, I root for the Memphis Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers!! I love stories of any kind including books, movies, TV shows, live theater, and more. Music is also an important part of my life as I have played the piano and guitar since childhood. I have served at Bethany since 2012.

Pastor of Caring Ministry

Larry Parlett

I have been Pastor of Caring Ministries at Bethany UM since November 2017. Through visitations, worship times and small group gatherings, it has been rewarding to get to know the people of the congregation and walk through their life journeys with them. In doing so I can see how their faith and witness for the Lord sustains them and encourages others.

We are living in very challenging times. As we do, I lean on one of my favorite verses, Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
My wife Sue and I live on a family farm where I love working outdoors. We have three daughters, three sons-in-law, and eleven grandchildren - so God has given us many blessings and keeps things interesting all the time. To keep up my energy through it all, my go to snack is peanut butter crackers and chocolate milk!

Administrative Assistant

Jen Daugherty

I enjoy my job because of the varied aspects of it. There is always something different going on. In my personal life, my favorite food to eat is just about anything Italian. I also love spending time with our grandchildren.

Children's Ministry Director

Rachel Zelger

I have been a part of the Bethany family for the past six years, volunteering in the children’s department for the last three of those years. It has brought me so much joy witnessing the children learn about how great our God is and about how much He loves each one of them! It is my sincere desire that the Children’s Department at Bethany continues to be a place for our youngest church family members to learn to be a part of the church as a whole, to be active in the work of our ministry, and to know what it means to belong to Jesus.

Children's Ministry

Jen Estermyer

What I love most about my ministry at Bethany is watching the children grow with Gods love. I enjoy being outside and going on hikes and my favorite place is the beach where I feel a sense of calm and peace and where I also feel closest to God.

I have been married for 25 years and have three beautiful girls who keep me on the go with their sports and activities. I work for a Marketing Company in the York area so that keeps me busy as well. One of my favorite bible verses is from Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Sexton

Ron Nickey

I have been part of the Bethany family for the past two years, and I have served in the role as Sexton for the past year. My wife Kathleen and I have been married for 23 years, and together we have raised 6 children. I served in the Navy for 12 years and the Coast Guard for 8 years. I love authentic Mexican cuisine, great movies, and working with my hands. My most memorable experience was meeting President George W. Bush in New Orleans in 2005 while providing Hurricane Katrina disaster relief with the military.

Choir Director & Organist

Julie A. Beard

I am so grateful to this church family for guiding my lifelong journey at Bethany. I enjoy accompanying singers of all ages and especially our Sanctuary Choir. My best memories at Bethany include special holidays and musical collaborations with others.
