Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a place to work through your hurts, habits, and hang-ups. It is a Christ centered 12 step program designed to help you through the troubles of this life. It is not just for alcoholics and addicts. It can help with depression, anxiety, worry, self-esteem, food issues, co-dependency, self worth, gambling, sex, pornography, and general life issues.

I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.
For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
– Romans 7:18 NIV

It is a place to connect with others going through the same things. A place to find support and resources to work together through those things that weigh heavy on your heart. By working together, we can support one another and work on the process of recovery.

Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
– James 5:16a NIV
Celebrate Recovery is not a place of judgement. We do not try to fix one another. What you see and hear at meetings stays at meetings. The utmost confidentiality is a requirement of all those attending. No one will ask why you are at a meeting, but it is a wonderful place to start building relationships and begin the healing process.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. – James 4:10 NIV
Are you ready to begin the process of healing? Are you ready to free yourself from your troubles and bondage of sin? Are you ready to build new relationships with other followers of Christ? Are you ready to admit you do not have it all together? Then Celebrate Recovery is for you.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9 NIV

What to expect at your first meeting.

You will be greeted by friendly people, just like you. People who are working through life’s issues just like you. The meetings are broken into two parts. The first part is where all members gather and hear a lesson or testimony. The lessons work through the steps of recovery to help you begin your healing process. Testimonies are given by those working on their own hurts, habits, and hang-ups. They tell you what they went through and how they are working on their recovery. There is a short break. Then we break up into gender specific small groups for a time of sharing.

What are you waiting for? The first time coming can be a scary tough decision. No one likes to admit they have issues. The unspoken secret is, we all have issues that require some effort to work through. Start today to commit to building a better life and a closer relationship with other believers and a closer relationship with Christ. Begin the process to find peace, joy and hope to begin living the life Christ wants for you.

We meet Thursday nights starting at 6:30 at Bethany Church in the fellowship hall. Come early and share in a light snack and talk to others and begin building relationships. All are welcome.
